Would You Love a Straighter Smile? Invisalign Could be the Answer

A straighter smile can be more attractive and appealing, but very few people have perfectly aligned teeth. Luckily, here at Definition Dental, we have a great solution that could help you. Invisalign can discreetly and safely straighten teeth and uses the very latest orthodontic technologies. It is renowned for providing excellent results and this system is popular worldwide.

What is Invisalign?
Unlike conventional fixed braces that use brackets and wires to move teeth, Invisalign utilizes clear, BPA-free plastic aligners. These aligners are removable and are custom-made to fit tightly over your teeth. Once in the mouth, they are virtually invisible. Each set of aligners is worn for two weeks for at least twenty-two hours each day and is then replaced with a fresh set that will continue to gently but firmly reposition your teeth. Ideally, you should only remove the aligners for meals and for brushing and flossing. Invisalign will have minimal impact on your everyday life as you will not need to change your diet and as the aligners are removable, it is simple to maintain good oral hygiene. Getting a straighter smile couldn’t be easier.

Who Should Consider Invisalign?
This treatment is perfect for adults and for some older teenagers with good compliance, as the aligners must be worn as directed for treatment to be successful. Invisalign can treat a wide range of problems including overcrowding and malocclusion, where teeth do not bite together correctly. You might wish to investigate Invisalign if you have an open bite, a crossbite, or an overbite or underbite. Invisalign can also close or minimize spaces in between teeth or will correct teeth that are rotated or out of alignment. If your teeth are significantly out of position, straightening them up could improve your dental health as it will be easier to brush and floss properly. A consultation with our family dentist in Beaverton will soon determine if Invisalign is the correct solution for you.

How is Treatment Planned?
After our dentist has examined your teeth and jaws, the next stage is to take x-rays, photos and dental impressions of your mouth. Invisalign’s software allows us to carefully custom-design your treatment plan, producing virtual images showing how your teeth will move. This gives you the opportunity to preview your new smile! Once planning is completed, your aligners are custom-made and you can begin your treatment. You will need to come and see us every so often, but these visits should be quite short as we just need to check treatment is progressing as planned. We can also provide additional aligners as required.

How Long Will Treatment Take to Complete?
Treatment times vary according to the complexity of the orthodontic problems requiring correction. Most people will complete treatment within a year, but you will receive a far more accurate timeline during your consultation. Sometimes more cosmetically oriented problems that only affect front teeth can be corrected within just a few months. Once treatment is complete, you will need to wear retainers but don’t worry as these are every bit as discreet as your aligners.

I've been going to Definition Dental for several years now and couldn't be happier! The staff are friendly and welcoming and it is so easy to make appointments. I wouldn't recommend any other place for dentists!

I went there for a cleaning, which was great. The hygienist was very polite, explained things very well and did a great job. I did have some cavities and came back for three additional appointments to get my cavities filled. The dentist, Dr. Agarwal, was very professional and i can honestly say of all the dentists I've visited over the years, she did the best job of filling the cavities. When it was over, i couldn't even tell that anything was done, my bite was exactly as it was before. Also, she was very conservative and wanted to try everything she could before performing a root canal and crown, which I appreciated very much. Cannot recommend her and her staff enough!!
